House hunting.

Well, lots of stuff has been happening since my last post. The biggest thing is that as of October 28th we are officially Under Contract for selling our house. No longer listed on the websites or anything. Joy.

Our home inspection is next Saturday. Here’s hoping they don’t find anything insanely wrong with the place! The building is only 8 years old, but from what I’ve seen so far, new construction isn’t necessarily the best. Not by a longshot. LOL

Today TH and I went house hunting. We found a realtor to work with in the area we are looking (Morris County) and had a list of 17 houses.

9 of the 17 houses were either under contract or sold, but for some reason still listed on the housing sites. Such a tease.

We wound up seeing 5 houses today. Of which TH and I both liked 2.

He liked this one:

I like this house too. It’s got a HUGE front and side yard, but the back yard is a little shallow for my liking. It backs to state property which is not supposed to be developed on. It’s a left-hall colonial. (I think that’s what they call them) — b/c when you walk in there is a staircase to the left. It’s also in a beautiful neighborhood.

Next, there is this one, that I fell in love with:

I looooove this one. You can’t see it here, but there is an ENORMOUS front yard, side yard, and HUGE back yard. The property is about 1.25 acres. It’s a center-hall colonial. There is a room to the left and one to the right and stair case in the center foyer. It’s not in a neighborhood, which personally is not a deal-breaker for ‘me’. It is across from a small farm and the next door neighbors have horses. I LOVE that.

BOTH houses have 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a full basement. My biggest thing is property. I want a lot and I want it to be flat. I loove to entertain so I want a big backyard. TH wants the same, however, he would probably love this house more if it was in a neighbor hood (you know, block parties and all).

We are going to try and see 3 more properties and maybe put an offer on a great house by the time we move out of our current place.

We are planning on moving in with TH’s parents the week after Thanksgiving. We close on December 3rd. I can’t believe we only have 1 month… but I love how fast everything is moving so far.

They are both beautiful but I like the second one too. It looks “warmer” to me maybe because of the fall decorations :o ) Good luck with the rest of your search.
