So this is my first job posting rant.
I just found out that come next year, I will not have a job. Everyone in my office except for 2 key people, will be losing their jobs b/c the office is being taken over by our National counterpart.
I understand the reasoning behind it and think it’s probably a really good business decision on the companies part.
But that leaves me without a job.
I’m not totally devastated, I mean, right now I am on a long vacation (abt 2 months) chilling and enjoying the time I have to work on the house. (which will be on the market TODAY!)
However, I like knowing that I have a somewhat steady income, even though it may not be much .. it’s pretty darn steady.
I know there is unemployment… but, I will really miss the guys I worked with and the atmosphere in which we worked. It was fun, pressure filled but fun.
I can take it one of two ways. Deal with it…not get upset. Realize all the positive things it could bring. More work on the house…can keep the dogs here with us since I will be home all the time. Or I can be upset, start looking for a job NOW and leave as soon as I get an offer, leaving the company without someone to fill my position and the end of the year / end of the quarter. The busiest time of the year. I would of course only be looking out for myself with that option. And I dunno if I could do it. But what are the chances of me finding a new job with comparable pay in a short amount of time.
Slim to none… so… i dunno. It’s sort of a conundrum, but not really. I dunno.
