Psyched…today our realtor had a ‘realtor open house’… I’m not sure how they spread the word, but we had a decent turn out. Of course, I wasn’t here to see what it was all about.
I was told it was a success..15 realtors showed up between 11:30a – 1:30pm.
The general consensus was that we have a cute place that is priced right. JOY!
The only suggestion made was to add some mum plants and a pumpkin outside our door. B/c one of our neighbors has them. LOL // okay, so we did that.
I gave the task to TH and not knowing what mums are, I wondered what he would come home with.

The realty appointment center called and told us that we have some people interested in seeing our place, so tomorrow night we have an individual showing with some realtor I don’t know. I won’t be here. And have to be gone between 4 & 6pm. I’ll probably go see a movie.
We also heard that there has been a string of Open House Robberies in my area…
“Public Open House robberies reported in the Montgomery Twp, Somerset County area. A couple with a young child enter the open house, and while the female engages in conversation, the male and child enter the bedrooms and remove electronics and jewelry from the property.”
Grrrrreat. Apparently this couple/family has not only been browsing my town but also surrounding areas of Princeton and even in Philly. One Sunday in August they took about $31,000 – $34,000 worth of belongings from 2 open houses.
Insane. We will be collecting all our stuff, like jewelry and the like, and putting them in a safe deposit box we have at our bank. Our laptops will be taken with us – out of the house, and other things like my DSLR and other computer hardware and gaming systems will really have to be hidden.
Also, my realtor and her company are taking the precaution of only allowing 1 set of visitors in at a time. So she could focus on them. We have 4 different floors and she can’t be everywhere at once. It might hinder the amt of visitors we get, but I prefer the safety. Plus people who are really interested can stop by anytime during the week with their realtor.
We have these wireless webcams … I’m tempted to set them up!!
i would have had you do that stuff anyway. you should likely put your jewelry and stuff in a safe deposit box til the house sells!
