TH and I are in a state of disbelief right now. On October 7th, we put our house on the market. On October 23rd (16 days later) we received our first offer. We countered their offer and the buyer’s agreed. Today TH signed the papers … and now we wait. Attorney review and inspection and all that good stuff. The closing date is currently slated for December 3rd. Holy freakin’ cow.
Today we went looking for houses in Morris County. TH’s biggest concern as far as location goes, is the amount of time it will take him to commute from work to our new home. I don’t have that concern, b/c as of right now, I will be getting laid off come 1/1/11.
There are some big things that have come up for us these past few months, which didn’t pan out. 1 was a job opportunity for TH that took months and months of interviewing and waiting. With the possibility of moving out of state too. Then there was an opportunity at his current job to work out of country for a few months. Neither happened, but in the end we were happy with that. And now, we have this offer, and with the way things have been going, I’m not so sure it’s going to pan out.
The buyer is pushing to close fast, she has a lease that is ending soon — so we shall see.
For now, our house is still ‘on the market’, b/c nothing is final just yet. We even had our first Open House today…
