Yesterday I was not having the greatest day. Walked in to work to a mess and drama. Not going to get into it now, preferring not to relive the experience.
Went to Old Navy yesterday and it made up for the bad workday. I bought 8 T’s and tanks for abt $40! I couldn’t believe how CHEAP they were. Everything was 1/2 price. $4.25 for a ribbed tank. Freakin’ awesome. I’m not ready to start buying maternity so instead I just bought some XL tops to ‘grow into’. Also, they were giving away free single-serve boxes of cereal with every purchase. Which I thought was a bit bizarre. Clothing = Cereal = I don’t get it.
I get a 30 minute lunch break at work. Which is barely enough time to get in my car and get TO some place, let alone getting BACK to the office. Fugghetaboutit. I was craving some Bubble Tea (Boba Tea) really bad so I my lunch break took me 1hr. To get to the Bubble Tea place and then stop and get something to eat on my way back. I got a toasted bagel with chicken salad (YUM) and the owner of the deli and I are friendly so she gave me a FREE Orange! With all this free stuff I’ll have a complete nutritious breakfast soon enough! (yeah, okay, maybe I’m not that witty).
I was psyched. Being handed free stuff just makes me happy. Whether or not the item is useful to me, I don’t care. It’s free. And it’s mine.
I’m allergic to most fruits due to some cross-pollination with trees. I’m allergic to every tree I’ve been tested for. Soooo unless the fruit is cooked and the chemical breakdown is changed, I get hives and rashes in my mouth and on my body. Fun times… fuhshure.
I really wanted to eat this orange. It was HUGE, think SOFTBALL SIZE. So I started peeling it, and peeling it and peeling it. Until I wound up with something that looked like this.

See how the right side of the orange is all glisteny … and you can see each individual orange cell. YUM! When you eat it like this, the little cells pop in your mouth. It is SOOO yummy this way, and I don’t get as itchy so long as the peel is off.
I IM’d TH and told him he’d be sooo proud of me. That I’m actually eating an orange. Oooooh Happy Me!

Please excuse my big nose and crazy look. I’m at work, eating an orange, and I’m sooo freakin HAPPY!!!!
Maybe my happiness has something to do with weather out here, since it has been awesome… we went from extreme winter straight in to summer. Skipping Spring (waaaah)… it’s 80+ degrees out here and we’ve got the A/C bustin’ a move at the house so our dogs don’t have to sweat it out.
Other plans on the horizon — getting the nursery ready. Is it too early for that? Naaaah. I’m ready to paint our DARK red old Library room and make it into a nice bright serene baby room. Soooo ready.

congrats on scoring the orange
probably never too early to get the nursery ready. that stuff always takes longer than you think it will
