No more work, but no play either…

What a week!

Last Wednesday was my last day at work. I hit the 24 week mark. Saw my OB on Thursday and got the okay to stop.

On Friday I picked up my niece. She is going to be staying with me for a week.

There was a bite on the back of her leg that seemed to be healing and within 2 days it got SO bad it turned purple and black! It was pretty bad looking. I brought her to the doctor yesterday and by then the bite was GRUESOME … no joke. They wound up having to do a procedure on her in which they stick a bunch of needles directly into the wound to numb it, slice it open and put a 5-6inch drain in it to get all the venom and puss out. Doc thinks it’s a spider bite, probably a brown recluse. But we can’t confirm at this time b/c we don’t have the spider with us. Well yeah.

The doc also took a culture and we get the results back on Friday, along with having the drain taken out of my nieces leg.

She was a good sport, and I was shocked to see the bandage, b/c the wound started out on Friday sooo small, then by Sunday it was virtually gone. On Monday it was the size of a quarter, and yesterday it was the size of a half dollar, on the back of her thigh.

She was sooo brave! She is on an antibiotic twice a day, and only took motrin twice yesterday after the procedure. She is not in any pain, thankfully!

Last week, TH’s dad came by to help us install the chair-rail. We are lacking in the way of power tools and saws, so it was very generous of his dad to help us out with this.

After it was installed, we painted the molding white. I love it

Besides that, yesterday was a long day with the procedure for my niece and running around … I feel ‘okay’. I’ve been having contractions pretty often since yesterday and told myself I’d rest and take it easy today and hope the contractions die down. I’m not sure I should be calling my doc or not, but I’m not in pain. So I haven’t called.

Today, my stomach is hard all over, not contracting, but just hard, and if I press on it, it’s a little sore. I think maybe it’s just the babies positions and that they are getting bigger. They are still kicking and moving around in there, so that is reassuring.

I attempted to clean out the pantry this weekend, nesting kicking in again. And now I want to clean the rest of the house, but my body cannot handle it. It’s frustrating.
