Excitement.!

I guess this is blog worthy. For me it is at least – VA had a 5.9magnitude earthquake that was only 3.7 miles deep. The way the crust is on the East Coast (less mountainess and gets less action than the west coast) causes the aftershocks to be felt pretty darn far, like here in NJ.

I updated my FB status to:

Why is my house shaking?! The ENTIRE HOUSE!!! I’m freaking out. EARTHQUAAAAKE!!!!

It was an interesting feeling. Luckily TH is home with me and validated that I wasn’t crazy when I started asking why the house was shaking. The walls were literally shaking. My blinds, things in the kitchen cabinets me on the couch. It was weird. At first I thought it was construction outside or a train going by… but I heard no noise outside to confirm that. It lasted long enough for me to really take it all in.

I looked at my FB feed and my friends were all updating their statuses as well… and that’s when I knew I really wasn’t crazy.

It was quite a feeling and I am actually happy to have been able to feel it! I have always wondered what an earthquake felt like!

I have seen some replies from West Coasters saying that 5.9 is nothing … but for an area that DOES NOT experience earthquakes, hardly ever — and being ‘prepared’ for them — it is a big deal. The structures are built differently out here.

Then there were those who didn’t feel it, for whatever reason even though they were local, and they were sad and envious of those who did feel it.

Besides that. Last night I was getting really frustrated with my hair. I don’t know why. I LOVED IT, and then I didn’t. Just the parts in the front that were super long. I would get rid of my part by pushing the hair in the front back, and then those pieces would hang longer/lower than the hair cut in the back and just didn’t look right. Sooo… I took out a pair of regular paper cutting scissors and snipped away.

Hair cut as of yesterday, and then the after -- once I got my hands on some scissors

Dibsy decided to join the pic again (she is the white blur on the right lower corner of each pic). She cracks me up.

Anyway, I don’t know how ‘even’ my hair is, but I’m really happy with it now!!! It’s still angled… just makes more sense and I don’t have to keep all my hair in the ‘right’ spot. I can just throw it around and it works :-)

An update on the babies — they are doing good! After the excitement of the earthquake they were rolling around like crazy… think they felt it?? Ha!

You hair looks awesome. I agree the front was a little too long but who was I to say anything. I wear my hair in a ponytail most days and do nothing with it!! Kudos to you for cutting it on your own though it looks perfect!! :)
